AHF Collection: Watercolors - Programs - Al Held Foundation

Al Held’s watercolors spring from his "sheer sensuous joy" with the medium. Since his premiere watercolor exhibition at the André Emmerich Gallery, New York, in 1988, they became both a distinct body of work and a laboratory for the development of new imagery. This presentation focused on large scale and rigorously composed works that were an “unprecedented and monumental interpretation of the intimate, informal medium,” according to critic Barbara Rose.

To view the Al Held watercolors currently on view, please register for a tour of the River Valley Arts Collective exhibitions.
